Are you over 55, have some time each week and want to earn a little extra money? If yes, the Foster Grandparent Program may be the perfect fit. Foster Grandparents work one on one with students who need a little extra individual help in subjects like reading, math, and social studies. They share their rich wisdom and knowledge with the younger generation, watch students succeed and gain confidence, and feel the satisfaction of making the difference in the lives of local keiki. For income eligible seniors, there is even a tax-free stipend that doesn’t affect your Social Security earnings. Training to become a Foster Grandparent is scheduled for Mondays May 7, 14, and 21 on the UH Maui College Campus. Contact us today for additional information and to request a program application, 244-3242 ext 226 or heather.greenwood@hawaii.edu.
This program is accessible for individuals with disabilities. For information or to request an auxiliary aid or service, contact 244-3242 / TTY 800-222-1222 seven days before the workshop
