Organic Gardening Workshops on 9/27, 10/4, & 10/11
- How to grow abundant organic food on Maui will be held Thursday, September 27th.
- Organic pest and disease management will be held on Thursday, October 4th.
- How to plan space to harvest enough to feed a family all year will be held on Thursday, October 11th.
Mike Zelko has been an Agriculturist in Hawaii for over 30 years. Past President of Hawaii Sustainable Ag Association, Owner of Zelko Farms, Hawaii Agricultural Products and Services and MidPacific Nutraceuticals. He is a farmer, teacher and consultant throughout Hawaii, working with over 800 farmers, teaching elementary through college level classes and helping various communities to grow food. Mike has a practical and entertaining approach that makes class useful and fun. Bring your specific questions and have them answered about your land or crop. Mike brings farm humor into each class making it fun.

Location Details: From Haleakala Highway 1.Turn onto Hali‘imaile Road. 2.Turn left down the lane across from the Maui Land & Pineapple office (paved HC&S/MPC road just past where the sugarcane fields end and before where the yellow buildings/parking lot begins. - look for purple Bourgonvillia bushes). 3.Follow this until you are just past the community and see the gate on your right. 4.Turn right through the gate, then turn at the first left (away from the houses). 5.Turn right again at the next lane and follow this path across the field. 6.Follow the gravel lane until it veers right and resumes the normal path to the garden along the fire lane. 7.Watch for signs along the way. Please proceed slowly along this road and only go to the garden.
