The Library will be showing the Oscar Award-winning film “The Artist” starring Jean Dujardin, John Goodman, and Missi Pyle. “The Artist” is set in Hollywood 1927, at a time when George Valentin is a silent movie superstar. The advent of the talkies will sound the death knell for his career and see him fall into oblivion. For young extra Peppy Miller, it seems the sky’s the limit—major movie stardom awaits. “The Artist” tells the story of their interlinked destinies.

The Maui Friends of the Library is sponsoring this movie event, which is rated PG-13, 100 minutes long, and suitable for ages 12 and older. For more information, call 875-6833.
