Public Meeting to Review Wahikuli-Honokowai Watershed Management Plan Vol.2
All are welcome to attend. The goal of the plan is to address land-based pollution, such as sediment and nutrients, to improve the health of coral reefs in Wahikuli and Honokowai watersheds. Come learn more about this project, share local knowledge and volunteer to get involved in efforts to improve coral reef health in these priority watersheds. Volume one of the plan (formerly called the Ka`anapali-Kahekili Watershed Management Plan) was presented in June and consisted of a watershed characterization. The focus of this meeting is the second and final volume which contains strategies for management of pollutants, implementation priorities, monitoring recommendations and an education and outreach approach. Volume two is currently in draft form until additional public input can be gathered and incorporated, which is one of the objectives of this meeting.
