Public Informational Meeting re: Extending Shoreline Protection at Wailuku-Kahului Wastewater Reclamation Facility
The County of Maui Department of Environmental Management is proposing to extend the shoreline protection at the Wailuku-Kahului Wastewater Reclamation Facility and will be conducting a public informational meeting on: Date: Wednesday, September 26, 2012 Time: 6:30 p.m. Place: Kahului Community Center Meeting Room 275 Uhu Street, Kahului, Maui, Hawaii The Wailuku-Kahului Wastewater Reclamation Facility is located ocean-side at 281 Amala Place across the Kanaha Pond Wildlife Sanctuary and west of Kanaha Beach Park. The proposed project consists of a 1,200 feet rock revetment extension westward of the existing revetment and short landward returns. For more information, the public is invited to attend the scheduled informational meeting. The Draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the project was published in the Office of Environmental Quality Control Environmental Notice on August 23, 2012. The statutory deadline to comment on the Draft EIS is October 8, 2012.
