Maui Portuguese Cultural Club to Participate in the Lahaina Plantation Days Festival
The Maui Portuguese Cultural Club will be participating in the Lahaina Plantation Days Festival on October 18 and 19 in Lahaina. The three day event will be held in the evenings in order to avoid the Lahaina heat, from 4pm to 10pm on Thursday, October 17th and from 5pm to 10pm on the 18th and 19th. The Festival will be held at the Old Lahaina Mill site off of Lahainaluna Road.
The Portuguese house will include old photographs and items from the days when the sugar plantation brought the Portuguese by ship all the way to Hawaii to work on them. The club will also be selling their famous Stone Oven Bread, baked in the traditional fire burning Stone Oven, jams, jellies, pickles, crafts, and plants at the event.
