All About Swing: Learn to Swing Dance Mondays 7pm in Kihei
Learn to Swing Dance with Swing Maui on Thursday nights at The Open Room in Kenolio Park Recreation Complex in Kihei from 7 to 10pm. Beginners to advanced. Everyone welcome. $10 per class. No Partner Needed.
Swing Maui is a Non-Profit Social Dance Academy teaching all things swing. All forms of Swing Dancing are taught in our classes and danced at our socials: East Coast, West Coast, Lindy Hop, Lindy Blues, Charleston, Balboa, Carolina Shag, Bal-Swing, Jitter-Bal, and so on. If it swings, you're likely to find it here.
Each and every Thursday night swing class is "Stand Alone" in its content in that it will build upon itself, starting out at the beginner level at 7pm and developing the concepts and moves/variations, getting more advanced until by 9pm or so we will have covered some fairly challenging, intermediate/advanced level instruction. We will take each move or concept and show how it can be adapted for East Coast or West Coast or whatever, so you can use the techniques in whichever style of dance is appropriate for the music being played. From 9 to 10pm is for social dancing when participants can dance freely and practice the moves they have learned.
Each class being "stand-alone"means that if you have to miss a week, that's OK. You can come back the following week and still pick up new material and new skill-sets. You won't have missed anything that will hinder you. It's kind of like a "One Evening Workshop" each and every week.

Location Details:
Kenolio Recreational Complex (aka the Kihei Youth Center) and Kenolio Park are in North Kihei, just mauka of S Kihei Rd across from the Kihei Canoe Club. The cross streets are Uwapo Road and Kenolio Road. Kenolio Road is one block mauka from S Kihei Road.
From Kahului: take Mokulele Hwy to Kihei, turn right on Uwapo Road (the Lahaina detour) and left on Kenolio.
From Wailea: take Piilani Hwy toward North Kihei, turn left on Uwapo and left again on Kenolio.
From Wailuku and Lahaina side: Take North Kihei Road into Kihei, turn left on Uwapo Road (ABC Store) and right on Kenolio.
There are two entrances to the parking lot about a half block down Kenolio, makai side. The Open Room is toward the South end of the parking lot.
