Talk on Critically Endangered Plant at Haleakala National Park
Michelle Osgood, Horticulturalist at Haleakalā National Park, will talk about her work hand pollinating the critically endangered Schiedea haleakalensis from the only two remaining natural populations of the plant on Haleakalā.
Her talk will cover the history of the plant’s protection and recent successes in producing seed from nursery stock. This event is Friday, October 20th at 7 pm at the Hannibal Tavares Community Center Poolside Room, 91 Pukalani Street, Pukalani. It is sponsored by the Native Hawaiian Plant Society and is free and open to the public.
