Youth Mental Health First Aid Workshop
Youth Mental Health First Aid USA is an 8 hour public education program which introduces participants to the unique risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems in adolescents, builds understanding of the importance of early intervention, and teaches individuals how to help an adolescent in crisis or experiencing a mental health challenge. Mental Health First Aid uses role-playing and simulations to demonstrate how to assess a mental health crisis; provide initial help; and connect young people to professional, peer, social, and self-help care.
Youth Mental Health First Aid is an extremely valuable tool to anyone who works with children on a daily basis or to any adult who would like to know how to provide initial help to young people experiencing mental health problems such as depression, anxiety disorders, psychosis and substance use disorders.
This training is sponsored by Mental Health America of Hawaii Maui. Normally the cost would be upwards of $150 per person but we are offering it free of charge. Seating will be limited to the first 25 people who respond.
