Bill Maher’s 9th Annual New Year’s Comedy Extravaganza
Monday, December 30, 2019; 8:00 pm; Castle Theater
The tradition continues! For the ninth year in a row, Bill Maher will be ringing in the New Year in Hawaii! Making the celebration extra special this year, Bill will be joined by special guest comedians, Sarah Silverman and Larry Miller. After sold-out shows for the past eight years, Maher continues to make good on his promise to be the “Don Ho of New Year’s.”
Adding to this New Year’s extravaganza are Sarah Silverman and Larry Miller. Silverman is a two-time Emmy Award winner and one of the most versatile talents in entertainment. She is perhaps best known as creator, executive producer, and host of the Emmy-nominated weekly topical talk series “I Love You, America,” which streamed on Hulu. The series earned nominations at the Emmy Awards and Writers Guild Awards. In May 2017, she released her latest standup special, “A Speck of Dust” on Netflix, which culminated in two Emmy Award nominations and a Grammy Award nomination.
Actor, comedian, and author Larry Miller is one of Hollywood’s most recognizable faces. He has appeared in over 100 film and television shows, beginning his career with a memorable scene alongside Richard Gere and Julia Roberts in the blockbuster film, Pretty Woman. He has since gone on to unforgettable roles in such films as The Princess Diaries, The Nutty Professor, Bee Movie, and 10 Things I Hate About You.

Bone Thugs-N-Harmony are a hip-hop group from Cleveland, Ohio formed in 1991. The group originally consisted of two siblings, their half-brother, their cousin, and a lifelong friend who all took on the last name of ‘Bone’ to recognize the ‘bone-deep bond between them’ – Layzie Bone, Flesh-N-Bone, Bizzy Bone, Krayzie Bone, and Wish Bone. Rapper Eazy-E of the group N.W.A signed Bone Thugs-N-Harmony to Ruthless Records in 1994. The group’s debut EP, Creepin On Ah Come Up, included two top 40 hits, “Thuggish Ruggish Bone” and “Foe Tha Love of $.” In 1995, their full-length album, E. 1999 Eternal, followed featuring another top 40 hit, “1st of Tha Month.” An updated version of “Crossroad” from the album renamed “Tha Crossroads,” became a smash hit holding the #1 spot in the U.S. for eight weeks. The group scored five more top 40 hits over the next ten years. They have continued to record and release their unique brand of street rap melded with lush R&B harmonies. All ages.
